YEREVAN. – Several sections of a main highway of Lori Region were closed due to a heavy snowfall that continues for the second day.
Dozens of trucks and passenger vehicles have been stuck up since Friday due to black ice on their way from Vanadazor to Alaverdi, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports from Lori Region.
“We have been stranded since Friday and will stay here for the second night unless the road is cleaned,” a Georgian driver said.
The organizations responsible for the road service said they had taken measures, but it is still impossible to clean the road completely. Road police are working at the scene trying to prevent traffic jams.
