YEREVAN. – The Armenian lawmakers are going to rush amendments to the law on profit tax in the interests of large exporters.

The RPA group proposed to hold debates on the bill within 48 hours that provoked a vehement protest from the opposition. Representatives of the Armenian National Congress, Orinats Yerkir and ARF Dashnaktsutyun said an important bill cannot be adopted quickly.

The bill envisages decrease in profit tax from 20 to 2 percent for the companies with exports amounting to more than $105 million a year. The bill is not applied to mining products.
