YEREVAN. – National Assembly (NA) Vice-Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov on Wednesday received several members of the Yezidi community in Armenia.

The talk centered on the condemnation of the crimes that were committed against various nations.

In this context, Sharmazanov once again condemned the mass violence that was committed several months ago against the Yezidi people in Northern Iraq. He also recalled that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan had spoken on this matter from the UN rostrum and condemned this violence.

The Yezidi community members, for their part, appreciated the President’s respective remarks at the UN General Assembly.

In addition, it was agreed to organize a photo exhibition in the NA and depicting the recent mass violence against the Yezidis in Northern Iraq.

Furthermore, a working group will be set up to study the violence that has been committed against the Yezidi nation and the respective historical facts.

Eduard Sharmazanov noted that a new phase in genocide condemnation will begin as of the current year.
