STEPANAKERT. – In accordance with the arrangement reached with the authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), the OSCE Mission will conduct a planned monitoring of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan.

The monitoring will be held on Wednesday, and in a northwesterly direction of Talish village of the Martakert Region of the NKR.

From the positions of the NKR Defense Army, the monitoring will be conducted by Yevgeny Sharov (Ukraine), field assistant of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office; Peter Svedberg (Sweden), staff member of the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office; and Colonel Markus Widmer (Switzerland), Head of the OSCE High-Level Planning Group (HLPG).

From the opposite side of the Line of Contact, the monitoring will be held by Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office; his field assistant Khristo Khristov (Bulgaria); and Colonel Tuncay Sevim (Turkey), representative of the OSCE HLPG.

The NKR authorities have expressed their readiness to assist in conducting the monitoring and to ensure the safety of the OSCE Mission members.
