YEREVAN. – A 20-year-old soldier killed in Karabakh as a result of ceasefire violation by Azerbaijani armed forces was the only child in his family.

Arsen Karapetyan, who sustained a fatal gunshot wound by the adversary, lived with his mother, the neighbors told Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent.

“Arsen was the only child. His father went to Russia. He was a well-behaving child, very shy,” Lida Shahverdyan said.

The young man phoned his mother two days ago to tell that he would receive a discharge in 100 days.

The soldier was mortally wounded in the line of duty of a protection area of an NKR Defense Army unit, which is stationed in an easterly direction.

The adversary violated the ceasefire on the Line of Contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces around 200 times, between Monday and early Tuesday morning.

During this time, more than 3,000 shots were fired in the direction of Armenian military positions, and by way of rifle weaponry, mine throwers and grenade launchers, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Defense Army reported.
