The court fined Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan for calling Armenia-Turkey monument a “monstrosity”.
The court ruled that Erdogan must pay 10,000 liras to Mehmet Aksoy, the sculptor of “Monument to Humanity” , Hurriyet Daily News reported.
During his visit to Kars in 2011, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called the monument to Armenia-Turkey friendship “monstrous” and ordered to demolish it.
A large monument was put to represent the Armenian-Turkish friendship and peace. The unfinished monument was installed near the old Armenian district of Kars, but was later deminished.
