YEREVAN. – According to last year’s data, the CIS countries’ share in the exports of Armenia has made up around 24 percent.

Moreover, Russia’s respective share is 20.3 percent making it the leader in Armenia’s foreign trade. Russia is a major purchaser of Armenian brandy and certain agricultural products.

The Armenian National Statistical Service recently publicized the January 2015 data on the state of the industry in the country.

Accordingly, the exports of industrial products have fallen on an annual basis by 15.4 percent in January, and the decline in Armenia’s beverage exports has played an important part in this indicator.

Nonetheless, a positive indicator was recorded in terms of cigarette exports, which have increased. To note, however, cigarettes from Armenia are exported to the “third countries,” whereas the CIS’ respective share was solely 0.1 percent in January.
