YEREVAN. – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian on Tuesday met in Geneva, Switzerland, with Prince Zeid Ra’ad Zeid Al-Hussein, the United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Human Rights.   

Nalbandian and Al-Hussein exchanged views on the steps taken in Armenia to protect human rights, the Armenia MFA press service informed. In this connection, the Armenian FM noted that, according to international organizations, substantial positive accomplishments have been recorded in numerous respective domains in Armenia.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, for his part, confirmed that democracy has considerably strengthened in Armenia, and expressed the hope that the steps taken in this direction will continue. He also underscored Armenia’s consistent initiatives in support of the international community’s efforts to genocide prevention.
