YEREVAN. – Three political parties with opposite views managed to overthrow their partisan interests and achieve adoption of the Armenian Genocide resolution by the European People's Party, head of Heritage faction Ruben Hakobyan said.

Being so different, political parties appeared to be capable of launching a common project.

“There is a situation when national interests must prevail over the partisan ones,” Hakobyan said in the parliament on Wednesday.

The political forum of the European People’s Party (EPP) on Tuesday adopted a resolution on the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Earlier Eduard Sharmazanov, a spokesperson for ruling RPA, described EPP's resolution as an unprecedented fact and“a common victory of the three parties – RPA, Heritage and Orinats Yerkir – that are members of EPP.”
