YEREVAN. – The parties represented in the Armenian parliament are not the political forces that influence real politics, political analyst Alexander Iskandaryan said.

The political intrigue that continued for the last two months has come to an end, and it was a logical end of the phase in Armenia's internal policy after the parliamentary elections.

“The niche of political opposition is vacant,” he said.

The most difficult thing is to create a system of political parties in Armenia, the expert said. He noted that none of the post-Soviet states succeeded in this mission.

During the Thursday congress of Prosperous Armenia party, Gagik Tsarukyan said he was leaving active politics and was giving up his position as a party chairman. Naira Zohrabyan was elected chairman of the party.
