YEREVAN. – Russian border guards in Armenia will spare no efforts not to let provocations on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

The head of the Armenia Border Department of the Russian Federal Security Service, Major General Vyacheslav Biryukov said they would take an active participation in the events dedicated to seventieth anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Speaking about Armenian Genocide Centennial, Vyacheslav Biryukov said the Russian border guards will do everything not to allow provocations on the border. The Turkish border guards, in their turn, are also working in this direction.

At the same time the chief of border department states periodic violations by the citizens of the Republic of Turkey. He said these provocations are unintentional, and the weapons are not used.

“There are small provocation. Despite this, we will continue to act only within the law. The goal is to understand what happened and to prevent repetition of the incidents,” he emphasized.
