YEREVAN. – Slovakia’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Peter Priputen—whose diplomatic seat is in Moscow—, on Friday presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

Sargsyan congratulated the newly appointed ambassador for assuming this office, wished him success in his diplomatic mission in Armenia, and expressed the hope that the ambassador will make the utmost use of his personal experience and professional skills to strengthen Armenian-Slovak ties.

Subsequently, the interlocutors discussed the opportunities and prospects for the enhancement of cooperation between the two countries, and stressed the need for the expansion of collaboration in several domains and the full use of the existing respective potential.

In addition, Serzh Sargsyan expressed gratitude to the Slovak parliament for recognizing the Armenian Genocide, and briefed Ambassador Priputen on the Armenian Genocide centenary commemorations to be held this year and their message.

Peter Priputen, for his part, assured that he will do everything possible during his tenure to develop and deepen Armenian-Slovak relations, and further strengthen the friendship between the two peoples.
