YEREVAN. – The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Armenia, Yervand Zakharyan, on Monday received new US Ambassador Richard Mills.

First, the minister congratulated the American diplomat on his appointment and wished him productive work, informed the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. Zakharyan also thanked the US government for its continued assistance in the programs aimed at the development of Armenia’s energy sector.

At the ensuing talk, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction by the results and the course of Armenian-American cooperation in the energy sector.

At Ambassador Mills’ request, Zakharyan also spoke about the current situation and the prospects for development of Armenia’s energy sector.

Mills, for his part, noted that the country’s energy sector is a key sector for the US government. He also expressed the hope that Armenian-American collaboration in the energy sector will productively continue.
