YEREVAN. – The Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, and the European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, on Wednesday paid a visit to the Yerevan Regional State College №1.    

To note, this school is one of the twelve colleges in Armenia that have been renovated and upgraded with the European Union (EU) support. 

Ashotyan told reporters that the EU-supported vocational education reform project had started years ago.

“As a result, we also have other international partners,” the minister added.

Ashotyan also informed that Armenia is now kicking off with a new program with the EU, and it will relate to providing education in agricultural professions.

“Our education system actually meets the European education standards, and our international partners also state that large-scale reforms were implemented in Armenia, and as a result, we are very close to European standards,” the minister noted.

He added that Johannes Hahn likewise is impressed with these results.
