STEPANAKERT. – Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR; Artsakh) President Bako Sahakyan on Wednesday visited a military unit located in the east of the country, and got acquainted with the everyday life of its soldiers and officers.

Sahakyan was accompanied by the Artsakh Defense Minister and Defense Army Commander, Lieutenant General Movses Hakobyan.

On the same day, the President also attended an event dedicated to the 65th birth anniversary of Vladik Khachatryan, a prominent member of the Artsakh National Liberation movement and the Karabakh War.

Sahakyan highlighted the perpetuation of the martyrs’ memory noting that Khachatryan’s character as a great patriot, good friend and talented commander will always remain bright in the recollections of the generations.
