Tourism is a priority of Georgia’s economy for the past ten years.

The head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration, Giorgi Chogovadze, stated the abovementioned speaking to reporters—including of Armenian News-NEWS.am—in Mtskheta, Georgia.

To Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter’s query on what Georgia offers to tourists from Armenia, Chogovadze responded: “For specific countries, we endeavor to make the tour operators of the two countries have close ties, so they may bring a lot of people to Georgia. The [Georgian] state assists in terms of management.”

He added that Georgia’s Black Sea coast is very interesting for tourists from Armenia, and numerous vacationers come to the Black Sea coast.

Last week, an Armenian journalists’ group—together with Belarusian, Ukrainian, Azerbaijani, Kyrgyz, and Kazakh journalists’ groups—got to know several tourist centers of Georgia.

During this “media tour,” we found out that Georgia has great historical and cultural tourism potential for tourists from Armenia.

The head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration noted that Armenia is third in the number of tourists visiting Georgia.

“We work in all directions, but the CIS [, including Armenia,] is the historical market, and therefore we assist these countries in every way so that tourism develops more in this direction,” Giorgi Chogovadze concluded.
