There are a large number of negative responses to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s invitation to world leaders to participate—on April 24—in the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Battle of Gallipoli, and which aims to cast a shadow on the Armenian Genocide centenary

The Turkish authorities had initially announced that they had extended such invitations to 102 world leaders, but this number is now down to 77, reported Cumhuriyet daily of Turkey.

To make up for the less number of world leaders on the respective list, however, the authorities of Turkey are doing everything to put other countries on this list.

Cumhuriyet also recalled that French and Russian presidents already have announced that they will be participating in the Armenian Genocide centennial commemorations to be held on April 24 in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.
