YEREVAN. – The Azerbaijani defense minister’s recent statement is the delirium of a patient.

Artsrun Hovhannisyan, the Press Secretary of the Minister of Defense of Armenia, noted the aforementioned at a press conference on Tuesday. He noted this while commenting on the Azerbaijani MOD statement.

Accordingly, Azerbaijan Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov had promised to “destroy 70 percent of the enemy with the first strike.”

“We have so many weapons and [military] equipment that, after our strike, the Armenians will not recover even after hundreds of years,” the Azerbaijani minister had stated.

In Hovhannisyan’s words, someone playing war games, and not a defense minister, can permit himself to make such statements.

“A person who has a basic idea about military affairs can suggest but one thing to this ‘hero:’ to measure his [body] temperature,” he noted.

The Armenian defense minister’s spokesperson also recalled that, first and foremost the army, and not the weapons and military equipment, means combat-readiness.

“You can boast about the military budget, [military] equipment, [and] weaponry as much as you want. But the people, the patriotic disposition, and the ability to seize great objectives with minimal resources ensure combat-readiness,” Artsrun Hovhannisyan stressed.
