YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, chaired the meeting of the organizing committee of the forthcoming Sixth Pan-Armenian Games.

The chairman of the World Committee of Pan-Armenian Games, Ishkhan Zakaryan, noted that the opening and closing ceremonies of the Sixth Pan-Armenian Games, which will be held from August 2 to 13, will take place at Hrazdan Stadium and Liberty Square, respectively, in capital city Yerevan, informed the Press Office of the Government of Armenia.

The Sixth Pan-Armenian Games will include seventeen sporting events, which are seven more than the previous games.

The competitions will be held in Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Artashat, Etchmiadzin, Abovyan, and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic capital city of Stepanakert. 

Even though 2,691 athletes from abroad have so far submitted applications to participate in these games, this number is expected to reach 5,000 athletes.

PM Abrahamyan gave several instructions to the relevant agencies to organize and conduct the Sixth Pan-Armenian Games at a high level.
