YEREVAN. – Armenia should respect the interests of Russia, but first of all, we must be guided by the interests of our country.

Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Mkrtich Minasyan noted the abovementioned at a press conference on Wednesday.

To the query on why Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan announced only now that Russia’s arms sales to Azerbaijan is a problem, Minasyan specifically responded: “We all know that there are things that need to be said when they may have an especially huge impact.”

The RPA deputy also expressed confidence that Sargsyan has studied the matter in full, and therefore he knows why this statement had to be made at this time.

“This statement was certainly a right move,” Mkrtich Minasyan stressed.
