YEREVAN. – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is following the situation with a Karabakh soldier, who appeared in Azerbaijan, and is in contact with relevant authorities, ICRC Yerevan Office Communications Officer Zara Amatuni told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Thus, the Azerbaijani authorities have not permitted ICRC representatives to visit Andranik Grigoryan so far. Nevertheless, Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry issued a statement assuring that Grigoryan is not complaining either about his health, or conditions of detention.

On March 22, contract servicemen of NKR Defense Army Andranik Grigoryan was captured by Azerbaijani Armed Forces. On the next day, Azerbaijani media in violation of international humanitarian law posted the record of an “interview” of the prisoner and the “moment of crossing” the line of contact. The NKR Defense Ministry said the video is a fake.

Arsen Baghdasaryan is another Karabakh soldier who has been captivated by Azerbaijan.
