YEREVAN. – Organizers of the friendly matched dedicated to the 60th birth anniversary of Khoren Hovhannisyan confirmed the reports that Patrick Berger refused to come because of Barcelona-Dusseldorf crashed airplane.

On Friday, Patrick Berger took to Twitter to dismiss the reports: “Comments about me changing my flight are all lies! I flew home on Monday Barcelona - Prague as I was supposed to.”

However, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent contacted the sponsor of the match, businessman Artur Soghomonyan who confirmed that Berger's agent said the player would not come to the match because of being in a state of shock as he had to fly by the crashed plane.

“Most likely, he denied the reports because he was afraid of fuss in the media,” Soghomonyan added.
