A roundtable discussion, titled “Armenia’s Agenda in the EEU [i.e. Eurasian Economic Union], was convened in Moscow State University.

Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Board member—Minister—Karine Minasyan was among the speakers at the event.

As per Minasyan, Armenia has joined the EEU not empty-handed, but rather with a considerable track-record in international cooperation, and developed financial and national payment systems.

The EEC Board member noted that Armenia is the sole EEU member country which has passed the joint systems of international financial reporting standards and insurance.

In Minasyan’s words, Armenia’s short-term agenda is to integrate with the integration. The country will either develop the most demanded branches of economy within the EEU, or the several other domains that can develop and find consumers in the EEU market.

The EEC Board member added that Armenia has advantages in information technology (IT), in the sense that virtually all of the world’s leading IT and digital product companies are represented in the country. Furthermore, there are considerable expectations from the service sector, too.
