The BBC has broadcast a report on the development of information technology (IT) among the children in Armenia.

“Armenia’s landlocked position in the South Caucasus has hampered its attempts to expand its economy, since it declared independence from the Soviet Union in 1991,” the report stated and added: “It has led the Armenian authorities to investigate new technology and online industries as a way of creating wealth.”

The reporter presented, in detail, the capital city Yerevan-based Tumo Center for Creative Technologies, where children get free IT education.

The report also spoke about the prospects for IT development in Armenia.
