YEREVAN. – There are about 160 refugees in Armenia from the southeast of Ukraine.

The head of the Armenian State Migration Agency, Gagik Yeganyan, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

As per Yeganyan, even though most of these refugees are ethnic Armenians, there are also non-Armenians, moreover, non-mixed marriage couples.

“There are both Ukrainians and Russians, who previously had no contacts with Armenia, but decided to seek asylum here,” the agency chief noted, and added: “We don’t prohibit; we try, with our limited facilities, to accommodate everyone.”

“Everyone is provided temporary shelter in the housing at our disposal,” Yeganyan also said.

As per the agency head, these refugees do not face difficulties also in terms of employment, and they can find a job in Armenia without difficulty, and with their Ukrainian passports.

“Our law permits that,” Gagik Yeganyan concluded.
