YEREVAN. – The Azerbaijani powers that be make themselves meet an impasse with their own lies, military analyst Arkadi Grigoryan stated.

Grigoryan noted the aforesaid while commenting, at the request of Armenian News-NEWS.am, on the recent Azerbaijan MOD statement with respect to the “sad situation of Armenia’s army.”

“It is a fact that the Azerbaijan authorities are improving in the matter of providing misinformation,” the analyst said. “But it is also a fact that it is more and more difficult for them to deceive their own people.”

In his words, previously, when Armenians were taken captive by Azerbaijan, the latter used to interview them immediately, and showed these interviews to the Azerbaijani public for propaganda purposes. In the case of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Army serviceman Andranik Grigoryan, however, the Azerbaijani propaganda machine went even further, and decided to present him as a “painter who had escaped from the horrors in the army.”

“On this occasion, there is a wonderful quotation from [the 16th President of the US, Abraham] Lincoln: ‘You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time;’ this refers to Azerbaijan. The authorities of this country treat their own people like drugs addicts by always increasing the dosage of the lies,” Arkadi Grigoryan noted, and added: “But, thus, they put themselves in an impasse, as a result, causing a vacuum.”
