The Swiss Ambassador to Armenia, Lukas Gasser, will represent Switzerland at the Armenian Genocide centennial commemoration to be held on April 24 in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

Official website of the Swiss federal administration informed about the above-said.

“The Federal Council [of Switzerland] has condemned on a number of occasions the tragic events of 1915 which led to the death of a very large number of Armenians.

“Switzerland will also continue to work towards a normalisation of relations between Turkey and Armenia. One of the provisions of the Zurich Protocols of 2009 envisions the establishment of a joint commission of independent historians from both countries tasked with re-examining these tragic events,” the respective statement also reads.
