YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, recently met with the Catholicos of All Armenians, Karekin II, Hraparak daily reported.

“They reflected on the remembrance days of the dead, [and] the Armenian Genocide Centennial amnesty.

“There already were rumors yesterday [, Wednesday,] that the Catholicos has sent an amnesty petition to the President, and today [, Thursday], at the Cabinet meeting, the Monday following Easter will be declared a non-working day.

“Hovik Abrahamyan [, however,] had planned to ‘correct’ the tradition which [preceding PM] Tigran Sargsyan had introduced of declaring the remembrance days of the dead as non-working [days], since the economists believe that this has a bad impact on the state of the country,” Hraparak wrote.
