An Armenian National Assembly (NA) delegation, led by NA President Galust Sahakyan, is on an official visit to Cyprus.

On Wednesday, the first day of the trip, the delegation laid a wreath to the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Nicosia, the capital city of Cyprus.

Later, in the Armenian Prelature Of Cyprus, the parliamentary delegation met with representatives of the organizations and associations of the Armenian religious group of Cyprus.

Sahakyan delivered welcoming remarks at the event, and he thanked the Cypriot Armenians for their invaluable work in the preservation of the Armenian identity. The NA speaker also presented Armenia’s most recent accomplishments and challenges, and the avenues for addressing these challenges. He also spoke about the Armenian Genocide Centennial commemorations.

Subsequently, those in attendance posed questions to the Armenian parliament leader. Galust Sahakyan, for his part, specifically noted that the Armenian soldier has never been defeated, and this bespeaks the high level of combat-readiness of the Armenian armed forces.
