Turkey’s pro-Kurdish “Peoples’ Democratic Party” (HDP) discussed the party election list with Abdullah Ocalan, the leader of the militant organization the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), and the PKK leadership, prior to submitting this list to the Supreme Electoral Council of Turkey.

An HDP delegation visited Ocalan, who is serving a life sentence on the Imrali island, in the Sea of Marmara in Turkey, in connection with the MP candidates who are on the party’s election list, reported Milliyet daily of Turkey.

Following the talk with the PKK leader, a group of HDP members paid a visit to the PKK camps, which are located in the Qandil Mountains in northern Iraq, where they also discussed the candidates on the party’s election list.

To note, the HDP has decided to nominate Istanbul Armenian community member Garo Paylan as an MP candidate from the party.

Turkey’s next parliamentary election is slated for June 7.
