Executive Director of the Armenian National Committee of America Aram Hamparian decried the resolution introduced by Rep. Curt Clawson on promoting ties between Turkey and Armenia.

Hambarian said Clawson's effort was “morally offensive” because it did not mention the Armenian Genocide, News-Press.com reported.

"He's taking a Sharpie to the history books and blocking out the inconvenient parts he doesn't want to deal with," Aram Hamparian said.

Last month Armenian Genocide Truth and Justice Act was introduced in Congress. The resolution calls on the President to work toward equitable, constructive, stable, and durable Armenian – Turkish relations based upon the Republic of Turkey’s full acknowledgment of the facts and ongoing consequences of the Armenian Genocide, and a fair, just, and comprehensive international resolution of this crime against humanity.
