European Parliament members are set to debate and vote on a resolution by political groups commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
The debates on “Armenian genocide 100th anniversary" will be held on Wednesday.
As reported earlier, on March 12 the European Parliament adopted the Annual Report on Human Rights and Democracy in the World 2013. Several clauses of this document are relevant to Armenia, especially the paragraph that calls, ahead of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide, on all the Member States to acknowledge it, and encourages the Member States and the EU institutions to contribute further to its recognition.
