Turkish hackers have reportedly hit the website of the Vatican on Monday following Pope's remarks about the Armenian Genocide.

Vatican.va was knocked offline by a denial-of-service attack on Monday night, The Hill reported. However, the website was restored by Tuesday, and a Turkish hacker claimed responsibility for the attack.

The first Genocide of the twentieth century was perpetrated against Armenians, Pope Francis said during a Mass in the Armenian Catholic rite in St. Peter's Basilica to mark 100 years since the Armenian Genocide. Later Ankara recalled its Ambassador from the Vatican.
