YEREVAN. – The Minister of Justice of Armenia, Hovhannes Manukyan, on Wednesday received a delegation from the Council of Europe Group of States Against Corruption (GRECO).

The minister highly praised Armenia’s discourse with GRECO, and reflected on the ongoing fight against corruption, informed the press service of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia.

The parties discussed the ongoing reforms aimed at reducing corruption risks within Armenia’s judicial system, and having a more independent and effective judiciary.   

Manukyan, at the request of the guests, also spoke about Armenia’s current constitutional reform process, and noted that a main objective of these amendments will be to introduce more effective mechanisms for ensuring and guaranteeing human rights in Armenia.

At the end of the talk, the Armenian minister of justice expressed his readiness to continue working, and further deepening cooperation, with GRECO.

The Council of Europe Group of States Against Corruption  delegation members, for their part, confirmed their willingness to further collaborate with the Ministry of Justice of Armenia.
