Eurasian Economic Union and Iran will work on possible agreement on free trade area, Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission said. 

Viktor Khristenko's remarks came after his meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanai, BELTA reported.

During the meeting, participants discussed the possibilities of long-term cooperation between EEU and Iran. The parties agreed that in the near future there will be a series of meetings with high-level experts to discuss the format of interaction. It is including exploring opportunities to enter into an agreement on free trade zone.

Viktor Khristenko said Iran is an important partner for all member states of the Union.
