YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday received Argentine Ambassador Diego Rivera, who is ending his diplomatic mission in Armenia. 

The President thanked the ambassador for his contribution—during his diplomatic tenure in Armenia—to the development of Armenian-Argentinean relations, and stressed that bilateral cooperation has enhanced especially in recent years, informed the Press Office of the President.

Sargsyan also wished Rivera success in his future endeavors, and expressed the hope that the next Argentine ambassador will fulfill his diplomatic mission in Armenia with the same enthusiasm and commitment, and for the benefit of Armenian-Argentinean friendship.

In turn, Ambassador Rivera noted that, during his diplomatic mission in Armenia, he had tried to be useful as much as possible to a achieve closer relations between the two countries and peoples, and stated that he will remain a friend of Armenia and the Armenian people.

In addition, President Serzh Sargsyan and Ambassador Diego Rivera spoke with satisfaction about the quite organized and strong Argentine Armenian community, and noted that the latter contributes significantly to the strengthening of Armenia-Argentina interstate ties.
