YEREVAN. - The most important event of the last year was the successful completion of the process of Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Armenia’s FM Edward Nalbandian stated Thursday in the course of discussion with the country’s PM Hovik Abrahamyan in Armenia’s Government.

Edward Nalbandian said that Armenia’s accession to EEU is based on the country’s strategic interests and opens up new opportunities for the development of the country’s economy, as reported to Armenian News – NEWS.am by the Government’s press-office.

FM Nalbandian also said that Armenia deepens its cooperation with UN. Special attention has been attached to Armenia’s active cooperation with the EU, OSCE, International Organization of La Francophonie, as well as international and regional institutions.

During the reporting period, Armenia signed 85 international agreements and 29 documents. 78 documents have been ratified and 41 intergovernmental and interstate documents came into force. Upon MFA’s initiative, nearly 75 draft legal acts have been worked out and adopted.
