YEREVAM. – Armenia is summing up the talks on a new agreement with the European Union, Deputy Foreign Minister Garen Nazarian said.

Armenia continues negotiations within Eastern Partnership, he said, adding that the EU-Armenia visa facilitation agreement came into effect since January 1, 2014. The talks on visa-free regime for Armenia and preferences for the researchers and cultural figures as well as students and youth are underway.

“The mentioned ones and other aspects of talks will help in elaborating a common position on a new cooperation agreement between Armenia and EU prior to the summit in Riga,” Nazarian said during hearings ahead of the Eastern Partnership summit that will be held from May 21 to 22.
