A conference, which was titled “Crime without Statute of Limitations: Ahead of the 100th anniversary of Armenian Genocide,” was held on Friday in Moscow.

The event brought together Armenian Ambassador to Russia Oleg Yesayan, Moscow university and research center analysts, prominent political scientists, diplomats, and members of the media.

Ambassador Yesayan delivered welcoming remarks. He reflected on the activities of the coordinating committee that organizes the Armenian Genocide Centennial commemorations, and spoke about the respective initiatives that have been implemented.

The diplomat also stressed the importance of this conference in terms of conducting expert discussions on the genocide issue.

“We will continue this process aimed at the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, since this relates to our [i.e. Armenia’s] national security.

“Ultimately, as a people that have survived genocide, we have a responsibility to not solely to the coming generations of our people.

“I am convinced that the Armenian people shall become the pioneer of this fight,” Oleg Yesayan specifically noted.
