YEREVAN. – Two of the soldiers, who were in the military truck which fell into a canyon in Armenia’s Lori Province on April 17, are still in critical condition.

These military servicemen are kept at the intensive care unit of the Ministry of Defense Central Clinical Military Hospital in capital city Yerevan, Hospital Director Aram Asaturyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Asaturyan noted that they had operated on soldier Martiros Kocharyan, who is in serious but stable condition. Once he recuperates, however, he will have to undergo two more surgeries.

The other soldier, Mher, on the other hand, is in very severe condition, and he cannot yet undergo surgery.

The other soldiers, who were injured in the accident, are in other hospital departments, and they are in satisfactory condition.

As reported earlier, the aforesaid military truck had rolled over at the Spitak city bends and fallen into a canyon. The driver of the truck, conscript Artyom Tovmasyan (born in 1995), had died as a result of injuries he had sustained in the accident. Nine other soldiers were injured in the incident, and all of them have been transported from the Spitak hospital to the Armenian Ministry of Defense Central Clinical Military Hospital in capital city Yerevan.

A criminal case has opened in connection with this crash.
