YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia will open the global social and political forum, titled “Against the Crime of Genocide,” which will be convened on Wednesday and Thursday in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Garen Nazarian, noted the aforementioned at a press conference on Monday.

In his words, the objective of this event is to complement and contribute to Armenia’s foreign policy priorities by once again exploring the mechanisms for a complete exclusion and prevention of such crimes in the world.

The deputy FM recalled that the two-day international forum is planned to be conducted by way of interactive discussions and a plenary session. MPs from a variety of countries are expected to deliver remarks at Thursday’s plenary session.

“The scale of the forum to be held in Yerevan will be unprecedented; we expect 600 people to attend it. The discussions will be covered by both Armenian and foreign media,” Nazarian said, and added: “An exhibition devoted to the Armenian Genocide and all genocides, in general, also will be held alongside the forum.”
