The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, is the Turkish media’s new “target” with respect to the Armenian Genocide Centennial issue.

Accordingly, Ensonhaber website wrote that Putin will be going to Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan on Friday, April 24—to attend the Armenian Genocide centenary events—, whereas he is sending chairman Sergey Naryshkin of the Russian State Duma to Turkey to take part in the 100th anniversary commemorations of the Battle of Gallipoli.

Sozcu daily noted, under a news article headlined “Putin likewise not coming to Turkey,” that after Pope Francis’ recent speech—in which he recognized the Armenian Genocide—, the Russian president decided not to go to Turkey.

Subuohaber website stressed that Putin, by preferring Armenia, took a step that enraged Turkey.

And Haberler website stated that the Russian president chose Armenia, and he is sending solely his fourth top official to Turkey.
