YEREVAN. – Several city halls of the Russian Federation (RF) have strictly banned holding Armenian Genocide commemorations, and forced the local Armenian organizations to remove the respective posters, Zhamanak daily reported.

“For example, the representative of the Armenian community of the RF City of Vladimir, Gayane Aleksanyan, told us yesterday [i.e. Monday] that Vladimir is one of the cities where obstacles arise to hold such events.

“[Genocide remembrance] posters cannot be put up in Volgograd city, too.

“Earlier, the press had reported that the Genocide 100th anniversary events are prohibited to be held also in the densely-Armenian-populated Sochi [city],” Zhamanak wrote.
