Moscow will help in ensuring that the documents on the development of cooperation between Armenia and Turkey came into effect, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

“We would like to see normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, solution to the Karabakh conflict and thus normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. We are doing a lot for this,” Lavrov said in an interview with Sputnik, Echo of Moscow and Govorit Moskva radio stations.

According to him, for several years Russia supported the process that was initiated by Ankara and Yerevan on drafting of documents on the opening of the borders, mutual recognition and development of cooperation.

“Unfortunately, the documents were not signed, but not yet entered into force because Turkey failed to ratify them at this stage. But we will make a contribution so that this could happen,” Lavrov said.
