The visit of Russian president Vladimir Putin to Yerevan on the occasion of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide cannot damage relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov believes.

“To honor memory of the victims of mass crimes is not a reason to spoil relations. There are many examples of reconciliation,” Lavrov said in an interview with Sputnik, Echo of Moscow and Govorit Moskva radio stations.

He said Moscow is doing a lot especially for the solution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“We are working with the foreign partners, talking to the representatives of Armenia and Azerbaijan. I hope solution of the issue will be accelerated,” he added.
