After the Austrian Parliament’s adoption of the resolution on Armenian Genocide, Turkey recalled it ambassador from Vienna for consultations.

According to the Turkish website Haberler, Turkey’s MFA reacted to the joint statement on Armenian Genocide made by Austria’s parliamentary fractions, stating that Austria had no authority and right to advance accusations against the Turkish people, those accusations not corresponding to historic reality.   

After the statement by Turkey’s MFA, the Turkish Ambassador to Vienna Mehmet Hasan was recalled from Vienna.

Earlier on Wednesday, six fractions of the Austrian parliament adopted a joint decision and recognized the Armenian Genocide.
