This year was a turning point in commemoration of the Armenian Genocide, since different international events are taking place and delegations from different continents have gathered in Armenia, said the Deputy Speaker of the European Parliament Ryszard Czarnecki, who arrived in Yerevan to take part in the events commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

“The European Parliament adopted a special resolution, Germany’s President used the word ‘genocide’ for the first time, and Austria’s Parliament adopted a resolution on Armenian Genocide and condemned it. For the first time in history Armenia has organized a global forum. Thus, this is a turning point for the actual commemoration of the Genocide,” the Deputy Speaker said.

According to him, the international community, including Europe, must realize that this is not only the question of Armenians but that of everyone.
