YEREVAN. – The Armenian Genocide Centennial will be marked in the US across the country, and throughout the month, Hraparak daily reported.

“[Commemoration] events are going to be held in Boston, Washington[, DC.], Los Angeles, [and] New York.

“On [Friday,] April 24 [i.e. the day of the genocide anniversary], tens of thousands of Armenians will participate in the events and the demonstration in Los Angeles. A protest action will be organized outside the Turkish Consulate in New York [City]. On the same day, a remembrance evening [will be held] at the UN.

“New York’s largest event will be held on [Sunday,] April 26. In the morning, the Armenians of New York and New Jersey will assemble for a liturgy at the St. Vartan Church in Manhattan. And in the afternoon, [they will get together] in the heart of New York, at Times Square, which will be completely closed off for the event.

“And [Armenian President] Serzh Sargsyan will participate in the events to be held in Washington[, DC.] from May 7 to 9,” Hraparak wrote.
