YEREVAN. – There is a lot in common between the Armenian and the Cambodian genocides; there were mass murders and massacres in both cases.

Cambodian Genocide Centre Director Ros Sopearavi and Manager Ros Rotanak told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The Centre representatives have visited Armenia for the first time, and they attended the two-day International Social and Political Global Forum against the Crime of Genocide. This forum was devoted to the Armenian Genocide Centennial, it was held in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan, and about 600 participants from fifty countries took part in this event.

Another Cambodian, Suon Sovan, informed that little is known in Cambodia about the Armenian Genocide, and the abovementioned forum has enabled him to learn many new things about genocide and better understand its meaning in the global context.

“When I return to Cambodia, I will try to spread this information, and make it reach the [Cambodian] government and parliament,” he told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
