YEREVAN. – New energy unit of Armenia's nuclear power plant will be ready by 2026, Deputy Energy Minister Areg Galstyan said in parliament on Wednesday.
The official introduced draft loan agreement signed with Russia to extend operations of the Armenian NPP for ten years.
The term of ten years was proposed by Rosatom, the future contractor.
“I cannot exclude that there may be necessity to extend operations by one or two years after 2026. But, personally I think that by 2026 we will finish construction of a new energy unit,” Galstyan said.
